The Russian Federation plans to reduce the amount of borrowing this year, using the funds of the National Wealth Fund (NWF) for this. This was stated by the head of the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation Anton Siluanov.
“We are planning to reduce the amount of borrowing this year, to use funds from the National Wealth Fund for this,” he said at a meeting with Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin on the current economic situation.
Earlier, the head of the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation during a briefing said that Russia does not plan to change the borrowing program in the near future. “We have a rather large amount of borrowing – about 3.5 trillion rubles. <…> We are not planning any changes in the borrowing program yet,” Siluanov told reporters.
